Terminal: 7 Quai Gaston Lalitte, 76200 Dieppe, France. DFDS sails from here to Newhaven. The ferry terminal and Dieppe railway station are separate places, so foot passengers need to account for the transfer.
Arriving by car
Enter the full terminal address in your navigation system, then follow signs for the cross-Channel ferry. Roads and bridges around Dieppe’s harbour can be affected by works. DFDS has warned of changes linked to the Colbert Bridge restoration; check the operator’s current terminal directions before relying on an old route. Keep booking details and every passenger’s travel documents ready.
Arriving from Dieppe station or town
The station is in the town centre. Dieppe tourism describes a Transmanche shuttle serving the station, town centre and ferry terminal around ferry movements. Its current fare information lists €3 for adults, €1.50 for ages 4–17 and free travel for under-3s, with cash payment to the driver. Consult the current shuttle timetable and fare before leaving, especially for a late sailing. If the shuttle timing does not work for you, plan a taxi or a longer walk.
DFDS estimates a 20–30 minute walk from Dieppe town centre to the ferry terminal. With luggage, children or a temporary diversion, allow more. A route that looks short across the harbour on a map may not be the pedestrian route available that day.
Foot passenger check: work backwards from the check-in deadline on your ticket. Add the station-to-terminal transfer before that deadline, rather than counting only the time spent on the shuttle.
Boarding for the UK
Confirm your sailing and check-in deadline with DFDS. Border checks and loading still take time after you reach the terminal. Depending on nationality and status, you may need a UK visa or electronic travel authorisation. Check official UK entry guidance for each traveller. Book pet accommodation in advance and verify the pet’s documents separately.
After arrival in Newhaven
Drivers leave the ship onto UK roads where traffic keeps left. Foot passengers can walk towards Newhaven Town railway station after disembarkation and UK border formalities.
